Ma Wen appointed as the head of the State corruption prevention office

China's new anti-corruption body, the State Corruption Prevention Office, is now operational. Today the State Council appointed Ma Wen as its director.

Besides being the minister of supervision, Ma is the deputy secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection - China's most important anti-corruption agency.

As expected, this body seems to be eventually controlled by the CCDI.
